Terms of service
Updated 2 November 2026. These terms apply to new orders and agreements made after publication. Existing agreements retain their agreed terms. Nothing here removes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
1. About BTP
We are Braydon Trailers Ltd trading as BTP – Braydon Trailers & Powersports, registered in England and Wales under company number 14683899. VAT registration: GB440396304. Registered office: Braydon Fields Farm Cottage, Braydon, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN5 0AG, United Kingdom. Contact Office@btpsouthwest.uk or 01793 239039.
These terms cover use of btpsouthwest.uk and purchases of trailers, powersports vehicles, bikes, parts and accessories. Workshop terms are set out below. Trailer hire is governed by our separate Trailer Hire Terms and your booking confirmation. Specific written terms agreed for your order take priority where lawful; statutory consumer rights always take priority over a conflicting term.
2. Orders, descriptions and prices
Please check the specification, options, dimensions, compatibility, intended use and delivery arrangements before ordering. Ask us if anything is unclear. Photographs may show optional equipment; the agreed description and selected options identify what is included. We will obtain your agreement before supplying a material substitute.
Prices are in pounds sterling unless stated otherwise. Where a price is shown excluding VAT, the VAT-inclusive amount is also displayed where applicable. The total, applicable tax, delivery and agreed extras will be shown at checkout or in your written quotation before you commit. Some used goods have no separately reclaimable VAT; the listing and invoice will state the applicable treatment. Registration, fitting or other optional charges must be disclosed and agreed.
A contract is formed when we confirm acceptance of your order or otherwise expressly agree the sale with you. A message expressly described only as an acknowledgement is not acceptance. If an obvious pricing error or availability problem is identified before acceptance, we will contact you to correct the details or refund the affected payment. Once a contract is agreed, we will not simply change its price or specification without your agreement or a lawful basis.
Payment must be made by the method and time agreed. Any balance for collection or delivery must clear before release unless we have agreed other payment terms. Ownership of goods we sell passes when the full agreed price has been paid; this does not change the separate rules on responsibility during delivery or your statutory rights.
3. Deposits, non-stock and bespoke orders
Non-stock orders normally require a 20% deposit, unless your written quotation states otherwise. We confirm the amount, specification and expected lead time before ordering from a supplier. The deposit is part-payment towards the purchase price.
Ordering a standard item from a supplier, choosing standard options or waiting for a factory build does not automatically make it legally bespoke or remove a consumer’s cancellation rights. A statutory change-of-mind exception may apply to genuinely bespoke goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised goods; we will explain this before purchase where relevant.
Where no statutory cancellation right applies and you ask to cancel an accepted order for reasons unrelated to our fault, we may retain or claim only reasonable, evidenced net loss caused by the cancellation, taking account of saved costs and reasonable opportunities to resell. We will explain the calculation and refund any excess deposit. There is no automatic forfeiture of every deposit and no double recovery of supplier charges, lost profit or other costs. If we cannot fulfil the order and you do not agree an alternative, we will refund payments for the unfulfilled order without limiting other legal remedies.
4. Delivery, collection and inspection
Our Shipping Policy explains coverage, charges, estimates, large-item arrangements and delivery problems. Collection and viewings are by appointment. Please wait for confirmation that your purchase is ready before travelling.
Inspect goods when practical and report concerns promptly. A collection signature, delivery photograph, missed immediate inspection or failure to report within 24 hours does not waive statutory rights. For consumer deliveries arranged by us, responsibility remains with us until you or your nominated recipient take physical possession, subject to the rules for a carrier you independently appoint.
5. Returns and refunds
Read our Returns and Refunds Policy for full cancellation rights and procedures. Approved voluntary goodwill returns outside statutory rights are subject to the stated 20% restocking fee and condition requirements. This fee is not charged for exercising a statutory cancellation right or a valid statutory remedy for faulty, misdescribed or incorrectly supplied goods. Sale items retain their statutory rights.
6. New and used goods, warranties and faults
Goods supplied to consumers must meet the standards required by law, including being as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for an agreed purpose. For used goods, reasonable expectations take account of factors such as age, price, mileage, condition and specific faults clearly disclosed before sale.
A manufacturer or other commercial warranty is additional to those rights. Warranty periods, service requirements and exclusions depend on the particular product and are supplied with the sale or available on request. Used goods do not include an additional commercial warranty unless stated in the listing or agreed in writing; this does not remove statutory rights.
Contact us about a fault with the purchase reference and a description of the issue. Photos can help but do not replace your legal rights. We will arrange the repair, replacement, refund or other remedy required by law. A valid consumer short-term rejection of faulty goods is not subject to a routine mileage or use deduction. Any deduction at a later stage must be one the law permits.
Return-to-base arrangements may form part of an additional commercial warranty, but do not override BTP’s legal responsibility for reasonable costs of a statutory remedy. We will agree practical arrangements. Courtesy vehicles or trailers are subject to availability and are not guaranteed. Normal wear, misuse or damage caused after sale is distinct from a defect for which we are legally responsible.
7. Safe use and registration
Use equipment within its stated capacity and intended purpose, follow manufacturer instructions and maintain it appropriately. Check towing suitability, licence entitlement and applicable insurance or registration before use. A product described as off-road only must not be assumed road legal. We will identify any road-registration or preparation service included in the sale. These responsibilities do not remove our duty to supply goods meeting the agreed description and legal standards.
8. Workshop services and repairs
We agree the requested work, diagnostic or strip-down scope, charges and any spending limit with you. A quotation is a fixed price for its stated scope unless changed by agreement; an estimate is an informed guide. Labour, parts, diagnostic time and any necessary reassembly must be explained, including VAT where applicable.
We will seek approval before additional chargeable work outside the agreed scope or limit. Where an immediate step is reasonably necessary to prevent imminent injury or further damage and we cannot contact you, we will take only proportionate action permitted by law, document it and explain any reasonable charge. This is not blanket authority for extra repairs. If you decline further work, we will explain the condition and agree safe reassembly or collection arrangements.
We carry out services with reasonable care and skill and within the agreed or a reasonable time. If we fail to meet the required standard, your rights to repeat performance, a price reduction or another legal remedy remain. No workshop hourly rate is fixed by this policy; the rate agreed for your job applies.
Where a consumer books a service at a distance and has a statutory 14-day cancellation right, we will respect it. Starting during that period requires your express request. A proportionate charge for work completed before cancellation is payable only where legally permitted and the required information was provided. The right is lost after full performance only where the required request and acknowledgement were obtained.
Please collect completed items promptly after we notify you they are ready. Storage charges may apply after seven days only where the daily rate and start date have been clearly disclosed and agreed in advance. We will not dispose of or sell an uncollected item without following the applicable legal process.
9. Valuations and part exchange
A website valuation enquiry is a request for BTP staff review, not an automatic or guaranteed offer. Any purchase or part-exchange offer depends on identification, ownership, condition, history, VAT status, inspection and our written agreement. Tell us about known faults, outstanding finance and any restriction on your right to sell. Any settlement and balance must be agreed before the transaction proceeds.
10. Website use and privacy
Use the website lawfully. Do not interfere with its security, introduce harmful code, misuse another person’s information or copy protected content without permission. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address misuse or a security risk, without removing rights under an existing purchase.
Shopify hosts our store and processes personal information to operate it. Shopify Network Intelligence is enabled to support personalisation, relevant advertising and understanding store and advertising activity. Information about store activity is shared with Shopify and relevant third parties, which may be in other countries. Our Privacy and Cookie Policy explains the processing, service providers, lawful bases and choices. See also Shopify’s Consumer Privacy Policy and the Shopify Privacy Portal for relevant objections and opt-outs. Using the website alone does not provide consent where separate consent is required.
11. Liability, complaints and applicable law
We remain responsible for loss caused by our failure to meet contractual or legal obligations. Nothing here excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Consumer remedies are not conditional on a manufacturer approving a claim.
Send a complaint to Office@btpsouthwest.uk or our address above, including the order or job reference and the outcome sought. We will investigate and explain our response. If it cannot be resolved, you retain the right to independent advice and legal action; we will provide information about an appropriate dispute-resolution body and whether we are willing or obliged to use it where required.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers retain mandatory protections and any legal right to bring proceedings in their home jurisdiction. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue where they can fairly do so. Changes to this page do not retrospectively alter an existing agreement without a lawful basis or your agreement.
