Hydraulic tilt beds with ramps and electric winches: the Woodford 14ft Widebody, 16ft and 18ft Auto Cruisers, and RL6011 enclosed car transporter are all fitted with hydraulic tilt beds, ramps and electric winches with onboard power.
Choosing the right car trailer
Check the actual weight of the vehicle being carried, including equipment, against the trailer's payload. The trailer's gross weight includes the trailer itself and its load. Check your towing vehicle's limits, gross train weight and driving licence entitlement before booking.
Measure the vehicle's length and width, and consider ground clearance, approach angle and how you will load it. Contact us before booking a low car or a vehicle that cannot move under its own power so we can confirm the loading arrangements.
Open or enclosed car transporter?
An open transporter gives you access around the vehicle for loading and securing it. The enclosed RL6011 provides covered transport for vehicles and motorsport equipment. Check the door opening, internal height and access around your vehicle with us before choosing the enclosed trailer. Its stated payload must cover everything you intend to carry.
Booking, deposits and European travel
Select the trailer and dates in the live calendar to see the hire total. Pay the hire charge online; suitable straps are included. The refundable deposit is £300 for open trailers, or £500 for enclosed trailers and European use, payable before collection.
Bring your driving licence, matching proof of address and a number plate for your towing vehicle. Insurance for the trailer and contents is not supplied by BTP; confirm your towing cover and arrange suitable protection. European travel must be agreed in advance and carries a 20% supplement on the discounted hire charge, payable separately before collection.
Return on time: more than 30 minutes late is charged at the full single-day rate. Further started 24-hour periods are charged at the same rate. After 24 hours overdue, up to the full security deposit may be retained against unpaid charges and reasonable, evidenced losses, with any balance refunded.
